DFD's principal consultant for Science and Technology clients is Dr. Duane Dale. Other senior consultants are available when a team approach or specialized expertise are needed.

& Results

DFD's work is aimed at producing results that benefit the client organization the scientific community, the nation, and the planet. Examples of our contributions:

  • Facilitated NSF advisory group retreats that established the framework for a ten-year outlook document for environmental research and education (Complex Environmental Systems: Synthesis for Earth, Life, and Society in the 21st Century, NSF, 2003).
  • Advised the multi-agency United States Global Change Research Program regarding processes for stakeholder involvement in strategic planning.
  • Facilitated drafting of a position statement on ocean sciences education that became the basis for NSF's announcement of opportunity for a new program known as Centers for Ocean Sciences Education Excellence (COSEE).
  • Designed and led a three-day visioning and planning process for the Illinois Council on Food & Ag Research, which advocates for research funding from the state legislature.
